Delligatium
Delligatium is a surreal first-person arena RPG where you devote yourself to a Striver, Gods born from mortal desire. Fight close-range battles with naught but a butter knife, suffer lasting limb injuries, uncover forbidden lore, and keep your miserable little mortal alive long enough to matter.
Delligatium is a surreal first-person RPG focused on the Delegates of Strivers: Gods born from mortal desires, worshiped by those trapped in a land no soul claims, and forced into arena games for the chance of exit.
You play as a mortal with a name, a body, and a chosen Striver. Every character enters the lower place carrying their own beliefs, weaknesses, and reasons for enduring what waits ahead. Whether you seek understanding, escape, or something harder to name, your path is shaped by the god you follow and the decisions made beneath their gaze.
Fight through deliberate, close-range arena battles where stamina, timing, blocking, leaning, injuries, and pleasant sound effects all matter. Every swing, step, and mistake carries weight. Battles are not about overwhelming enemies with endless attacks, but about reading movement, managing exhaustion, creating openings, and surviving long enough to make your own. A careless strike can leave you exposed. A well-timed defense can turn a losing fight into a victory.
Choose a Striver at the start of each character’s fall. Your devotion changes your stats, strengths, weaknesses, and relationship with the characters sharing your fate. Different Strivers reward different approaches to survival, shaping both your fighting style and the opportunities available to you beyond the arena. The god you serve leaves its mark on every run.
Suffer through a limb-based injury system. Your arms, legs, ribs, and skull can bruise, worsen, break, and affect how you move and fight. Injuries persist beyond individual matches, forcing you to adapt when your body no longer performs as expected. A damaged leg may slow your movement. A broken arm may compromise your defense. Every wound becomes part of your story.
Explore the lower place between battles. Speak to sub-par survivors, spend copper, make donations, sell limbs, find distractions, and discover things that should probably have been left alone. The world beyond the arena is filled with strange people trying to endure in stranger ways. Some offer help. Some offer problems. Most offer both.
Read lore books and uncover the beliefs, histories, and arguments behind the Strivers. Some characters understand more than others, and some would rather keep their knowledge hidden. Piece together conflicting accounts, forgotten traditions, and uncomfortable truths as you learn why these gods exist and what they demand from those who follow them.
