UNHOLD is a rock climbing simulator built with Unreal Engine 5, played from a third-person perspective.
The game is designed for those seeking a calm, focused experience that requires patience, precision, and an understanding of physics. This is not a fast-paced action game or a puzzle game in the classical sense.
Multiplayer
Co-op for up to four players. Gather all your friends and conquer every peak!
Graphics
With each new height, an increasingly wide panorama unfolds: distant mountains, rivers, clouds beneath your feet. The game features a day and night cycle that affects the lighting of the rocks and surroundings. UNHOLD allows you to fully immerse yourself in the nature of the mountains.
Saving
Progress is automatically saved upon reaching checkpoints, which are located on natural ledges of the cliffs.
Different Game Modes
The main mode features checkpoints — suitable for getting familiar with the game before attempting a record run. The mode with saves provides checkpoints for practicing difficult sections without having to restart from the beginning. Hardcore mode has no saves — any fall means death, and the climb starts from the very beginning.
Leaderboards
The global leaderboard ranks players by total ascent time and distance climbed. Each entry includes a ghost of the record run available for viewing.
