Personnel Training Program: FOCUS
Orientation Materials / Observer Candidates
About This Program
The Manifestation Containment Organization (MCO) is the agency with jurisdiction over the observation and containment of manifestations.
This program, FOCUS, is a personnel training emulator for simulating the observation duties pertaining to containment subject M-256. It is constructed using training data, and its release to the public has been approved by MCO senior administration.
Purpose: Improvement of observer candidate proficiency, and collection of data contributing to the optimization of containment protocols.
Containment Subject: M-256
M-256 is a manifestation possessing reality-altering properties. It performs alterations to the logical structure of any system with which it comes into contact. Containment is currently maintained by directing its alteration activity toward a virtual environment constructed on computers under MCO management.
Maintenance of containment requires continuous observation reporting of alteration activity within the virtual environment.
Observation Duty Protocol
STEP 1: Connection
The emulator is started, and access to the surveillance feed of the virtual environment is established.
STEP 2: Observation of Alterations
Points of alteration within the feed are detected. Alterations progress over a period of 20 seconds.
STEP 3: Reporting
A report is completed by clicking the location at which an alteration has been detected. A reporting quota is set for each section. Access to the next section is granted upon fulfillment of the quota.
STEP 4: Handling of M-256
M-256 may manifest within the virtual environment during a training section. When the subject is detected, it is to be reported by clicking. If no report is made, the section is terminated.
Section Structure
Five sections in total. Difficulty is set in graduated stages. Sections in which the quota is not fulfilled are repeated.
Estimated Duration: 30–60 minutes
