Until the Fire Dies
A first-person survival horror game where daylight is spent chopping trees, splitting logs, and stacking firewood. When night falls, keep the campfire burning and survive the horrors waiting beyond its light.
CUT WOOD BY DAY. SURVIVE BY NIGHT.
The fire is your only protection
By day, use the limited hours of sunlight to chop trees, haul logs back to camp, split them into firewood, and build a stockpile for the coming night.
When darkness falls, horrors emerge beyond the firelight. Feed the flames, manage your dwindling supply of wood, and decide when it is worth leaving the safety of camp to fight back.
If the fire dies, the darkness closes in.
TWO WAYS TO SURVIVE
THE CURSE
Survive the nights, explore the wider forest, and hunt down four ancient cursed trees feeding the horrors. Destroy them all to break the curse and end the nightmare.
ENDLESS SURVIVAL
There is no final night.
Prepare during the day, defend the fire after dark, and survive increasingly dangerous nights for as long as possible. Enemy pressure continues to grow until the forest finally overwhelms you.
Every new morning is earned.
PHYSICALLY PREPARE YOUR FIREWOOD
Wood is more than a number in a menu.
Cut down trees, carry logs back to camp, split them into usable firewood, and stack each piece in preparation for the night ahead.
Every piece of wood matters. Poor preparation during the day can become a death sentence after sunset.
KEEP THE FIRE ALIVE
The fire is warmth.
The fire is safety.
The fire is survival.
Keep feeding the flames throughout the night. As the fire weakens, so does the protection surrounding your camp. Let it die, and you will be exposed to everything waiting in the darkness.
USE THE DAYLIGHT WISELY
The world follows a living day and night cycle.
Every minute spent exploring or gathering resources is a minute not spent preparing your camp. When night begins, you must survive with whatever you managed to collect.
FIGHT BACK, BUT CHOOSE CAREFULLY
Your axe can defend you, but combat is not the safest solution.
Enemies hit hard, and leaving the firelight puts you at serious risk. Fighting can reduce the pressure around camp and buy valuable time, but every encounter could end your run.
