Ocean Threshold
A mythic journey through a fractured psyche: explore trauma, transformation, and rebirth inside a living labyrinth shaped by memory and emotion.
Ocean Threshold
An immersive descent into the space between life and death, and the journey back.
Ocean Threshold is a 2-3 hour narrative experience that explores the liminal threshold between trauma and transformation. Blending psychological depth with mythic structure, it unfolds as an interactive labyrinth shaped by memory, perception, and emotional states.
About This Experience
The experience begins in the suspended aftermath of a suicide attempt - a moment outside of time.
You step into the fragmented psyche of an unnamed avatar, entering a dreamlike, mythological labyrinth that reflects an inner world in flux. What follows is a journey structured around an ancient cycle: descent into darkness, transformation within the unknown, and return to life with new meaning
Each space within the labyrinth is an expression of emotive architecture: shattered memories, subpersonalities, and paradoxical dreamscapes. Rooted in archaic mythological traditions, Ocean Threshold draws on the idea of “threshold states”: moments where the boundary between worlds dissolves.
This is not a story told through dialogue, but through space, sensation, and presence.
Key Features
Emotive Architecture
Explore environments that function as psychological constructs rather than static levels. Gravity shifts, scale distorts, and sound evolves in response to your interaction, reflecting internal emotional states.
Experimental Mechanics
Ocean Threshold is designed more like an installation than a conventional game:
Zero-gravity navigation and disorientation
Sensory deprivation and minimal interface
Dynamic environmental transformation
VR-First Experience
Built primarily for VR to maximize immersion and presence, with a desktop version available for accessibility.
Mythic Autobiographical Narrative
Artistic Vision
This is a personal work, created at the intersection of psychology and art, reimagined through symbolic and spatial storytelling. Rather than direct narration, the experience uses metaphor and structure to evoke empathy and interpretation.
It transforms a lived experience of crisis into a mythic and architectural journey. By structuring pain into symbolic form, the project opens space for reflection on depression, despair, and transformation.
Inspired by immersive installations and ancient myth, the experience invites players into a vulnerable psychological space where meaning is not given, but discovered.
A Socially Conscious Work
Ocean Threshold is intended not only as a game, but as a therapeutic and socially conscious art installation.
By placing the player within a vulnerable internal landscape, it creates space for recognition and empathy, allowing players to see aspects of their own experience reflected and restructured.
It contributes to ongoing conversations around mental health, suicide awareness, and the role of storytelling in healing.
