Fulfill vows for clients too afraid to return in this Thai folk horror point-and-click game. Read clues, choose offerings, and complete rituals before dawn. You have 13 nights to pay for your mother's surgery, but each mistake may leave a debt that money cannot settle.
Kaebon is a point-and-click horror game based on Thai beliefs about vows and offerings. You take jobs fulfilling vows for people who are afraid to return themselves. You have 13 nights to earn the 15,500 baht needed for your mother's surgery.
Each night, you read the job instructions, explore the location, and prepare a ritual before dawn. You need to choose the offerings, arrange them, and decide how many incense sticks to light. Once the work is done, you send the broker a photograph to collect your pay.
Clients do not always give you the full story. Clues at each location and your predecessor's notebook help you work out what to do. What you find may conflict with the instructions, and mistakes during a ritual can affect later nights.
You buy offerings with the client's budget, choosing what you need and how much to spend. You can return to the shop if you brought the wrong supplies, but the trip takes time. Time spent exploring or travelling also leaves you less time to finish the ritual.
Back in your room, you can read messages and letters, examine photographs, and notice changes around you. These details gradually reveal what happened to the person who did this work before you.
There are seven endings, determined by your decisions and the debt you accumulate during the game. The ending collection records those you have reached. Unseen endings keep their names and images hidden, so you can look for the others without seeing them in advance.
