Sugar is illegal, the bakeries are shut, and Christmas tastes like nothing. But Grandma's recipe book survived. Bake in the back room with up to eight players, sell at the back door, and keep the Department of Sugar Affairs out of your kitchen.

SINCE THE SUGAR BAN, CHRISTMAS TASTE LIKE NOTHING

The state seized the supply and closed the bakeries. What's left is a handwritten recipe book in a backyard kitchen.

YOU BAKE IN THE DARK

Covered windows, an oven that's too loud, and sugar you have to source on the black market. Every ingredient changes what comes out the other end.

AND SOONER OR LATER THE DSA KNOCKS

Smoke rises, neighbours talk, your heat goes up. When the Department of Sugar Affairs is at your door, you get about ten seconds to decide.

THE MONEY IS DIRTY

Cookies for cash, and the cash smells of cinnamon and trouble. So nobody asks where it came from, you launder it: laundromat, casino, bank, detours. Otherwise the state takes its cut.

FOUR PEOPLE IN A KITCHEN BUILT FOR ONE

One bakes, one sells, one keeps watch. The register is shared, and whether everything is still in it at the end of the night is between the four of you.
