Piecework: The Jigsaw Museum
Thirty masterpieces, nearly twenty-eight thousand pieces, and every single one of them is on the floor. Put the museum back together in a cozy first-person jigsaw game: as the Curator, with a few tricks up your sleeve, or on the Night Watch, with nothing but a good eye.
EVERYTHING IS ON THE FLOOR
Thirty paintings are waiting for their pieces, and every one of those pieces is in the museum with you right now. Not sorted. Not boxed. Not politely waiting behind a loading screen. The whole collection, mixed together, underfoot.
PICK IT UP. CARRY IT. PUT IT BACK.
Grab a handful, carry a whole stack, turn a piece over to see which painting it came from. Walk it over, find its spot, press it in. Get one wrong and nothing breaks. It just sits there looking slightly embarrassed until you take it back.
YOU WORK HERE NOW
The museum is yours to put back together, and the Director has a few house rules about how. They come in writing, they come with conditions, and they are locked in safes. Find the keys and you might even be allowed to run.
CURATOR OR NIGHT WATCH
Choose your shift before the doors open. The Curator levels up with every piece placed and spends the points on five abilities: light up every edge piece in the building, pick one painting's pieces out of the crowd, and eventually have pieces fly into your hands and onto the wall. The Night Watch gets none of that. Just you, the collection and a very good eye.
EVERY PAINTING GETS ITS MOMENT
Seat the last piece and a painting that has spent who knows how long on the floor is whole again, back on the wall where it belongs. Step back. Admire it. You have earned that much.
NOTHING IS LOST
Every piece can be found. Some have rolled under things nobody has looked beneath in decades. They are still there, and you will get to them.
