Star Steel Vanguard

Star Steel Vanguard is a survival action roguelike where you pilot a tank and command a hero through 20-minute waves of enemies. Draft weapons, dodge bullets, and make the calls when missions pop up mid-run.
Star Steel Vanguard is a survival roguelike where you drive a tank and level a hero through 20 minutes of steel, bullets, and a swarm that doesn't stop. You draft weapons and upgrades as you go, and the mid-run missions you accept decide how the run ends.
The war is older than anyone alive, and the amalgam does not stop. Out past the last supply line, you drive steel into the dark with a tank held together by scrap and stubbornness - and when it hits back, you dodge.
The Game
You drive, you shoot, you dodge. Every level-up, you draft a new weapon or upgrade, and the build you assemble decides how the run plays.
Key features
Spend two resources between runs. Currency buys talents in your character's tree; materials from run rewards and missions upgrade your tank. Nothing resets - what you buy stays bought.
Draft weapons and upgrades on level-up. Each pick is your build for this run.
Dodge bullet patterns from mobs and bosses. The field fills with fire; movement is how you stay alive.
Call the shots on mid-run missions. Events pop up with a reward and a cost; you choose what to accept.
Send mobs flying with physics-based damage. Hits knock enemies back, bodies stack, and the field clears.
Two layers of progression
Every level-up, you draft a weapon or an upgrade. That build dies with the run. Between runs, two resources fund two tracks: currency buys talents in your character's tree, and materials pulled from run rewards and missions go into your tank. Nothing resets. What you buy stays bought.
Missions that make the call
Missions and events pop up during a run, each with a reward and a cost. Taking one grants a buff or a debuff, and you commit mid-run, in the middle of a fight. Missions also feed materials into your tank between runs, so a call made mid-fight outlives the run. That decision layer is what separates a Star Steel Vanguard run from a standard wave-survival loop.
Combat that hits back
Mobs take physics-based damage: physical shots knock them back, and bodies stack and clear the field. The combat is built to be loud - screen-filling fire, bosses that bring bigger patterns as the run ends.
