Outflow
Outflow is my passion project: a multiplayer zombie survival game where thousands of undead roam a procedurally generated wasteland. I build it myself, shaped by the players who test it with me. Scavenge, build a base, and survive the horde together.
Survive the Outflow
Outflow is an online multiplayer zombie survival game. A horde thousands strong crosses a wasteland that's generated fresh from a seed. Scavenge, craft and build with your friends, then hold out when the horde comes for your base.
A horde, not a handful
Most zombie games give each zombie its own AI, which caps how many can exist at once. Outflow simulates the whole horde as one system, so thousands of zombies can be on screen at the same time. They follow the terrain, flow around lakes and obstacles, and all push toward the same target.
Hordes pour out of spawn points across the map and grow as the game goes on
Zombies bite anyone they reach. Get surrounded and you go down fast
Every weapon works against the horde: guns, bows, thrown weapons, melee and vehicles
A new world every seed
Each world is generated from a seed. You get lakes, rivers, a road network, and points of interest worth looting: towns, apartment blocks, container yards, swamps and more. No two maps are laid out the same, so you never know what's over the next hill.
Scavenge, craft, progress
Break down scrap piles for metal and materials, and loot buildings for weapons, gear and clothing
Work up the crafting ladder: Scrap, then Metal, then Reinforced. Each tier's workbench is built with the one before it
Find and fit weapon attachments
Level up your character as you survive
Build a base, then defend it
Build freely with foundations, walls, floors, doors and more, in scrap, metal and reinforced tiers. Stronger walls take longer to chew through. The horde treats your walls as obstacles and will gnaw at them. If they break through, they pour in, so plan your defenses, reinforce your weak points and watch every side.
Stay alive
Manage health, hunger, thirst and body temperature through a full day/night cycle with dynamic weather. Night is darker and more dangerous, and the weather can turn on you.
Bandits and the open road
The horde isn't the only threat. Armed bandits hold camps along the roads, guarding all they've taken. Take them on for their loot, or drive around them. Find and repair vehicles to cross the map, run supplies, or plough straight through the horde.
Play together
Online co-op on dedicated servers, up to 32 players per server
Text chat, minimap and a shared world that keeps going while you sleep
Customize your survivor's look, and gear up with the clothing you find in the world
A word from the developer
Hi, I'm MINI. Outflow is my passion project. I build it on my own, but not completely alone: players have been in the game with me since the first alpha, breaking things, reporting what's wrong and telling me what would make it better. A lot of what's in Outflow today is there because a tester found it broken or asked for it.
Outflow keeps growing, and it grows in the open. If you play, you're part of building it, and your reports shape what I work on next. Thanks for being here.
