Satirical political sim played from your desk. A nobody from the couch runs for office and signs laws by hand, drawing the signature yourself. Every law pleases some factions and enrages others. Tomorrow's paper will judge you, and the friends who paid your registration will come to collect.

You watched the news from your couch, swore at the telly and decided you could do it better. Now you have a desk, a pen and a town that expects something from you.

Good President Simulator is a satirical political sim played sitting at your desk, in first person. Laws land on the table, visitors walk in with their favours, and everything you sign ends up in tomorrow's newspaper.

Sign. Or don't.

Every law arrives on paper. Pick up the pen and draw your signature to approve it, or reject it and crumple it up. Each law shows, in green and red, which factions cheer and which ones seethe, and what it does to the party money and the public money. There is no free law.

Fifteen factions, one of you

Socialists, capitalists, greens, the young, security forces, the mafia, the conspiracy crowd and more. Friends and enemies among them are wired together, so a favour for one is an insult to another. Let a whole camp fall to zero and it comes to your desk with an ultimatum. Get the poll above 50 and you can run for the next office.

Tomorrow's front page

The paper on your desk is written from what you signed yesterday, with your own town's name on the masthead. Read what they say about you, then go back to work.

A desk that answers back

Visitors walk in, hand over the law and say their piece. Some bring a cigar, an envelope or a gift. Taking it counts as accepting it. Anything illegal is settled out loud, with no paper and no proof: a bell for "deal" and another for "no deal". When you are done, flick the lamp off and go home. Between laws, screwed-up paper goes in the bin, and the bin keeps score.

The friends who paid

Somebody covered your registration fee. They said they were friends. They will be in touch, and so will whoever they work for.

From a wrecked house to the presidential office

Four stages: town, city, region and country. Each one has a bigger office, bigger factions and bigger consequences. Win the national elections, lose them, get thrown out or go somewhere much worse: the game has 21 endings, and your newspaper has a headline for every one.
