Hexshroom drops you inside a glowing hexagonal tunnel as a tiny mushroom runner. The floor, the walls and the ceiling are all track. Flick in any of six directions to vault straight to that face, floor to ceiling in a single move, and keep running while the world spins around you.

The music builds the course

Every level is shaped by its song. Intros open wide and gentle. Build-ups squeeze down to a single path. On the drop the tunnel bursts open, and in later levels the lane under your feet ends right on the downbeat, so you jump with the music. Spores land on the beat, so collecting them plays along with the track. Each level builds the same course every attempt: learn it, master it, chase three stars and a Flawless run.

20 levels across four zones

Climb from the gentle Glade through the Caverns and the Tempest to the Heartwood, each level faster than the last and set to its own EDM track, from 103 up to 174 BPM. A quick tutorial teaches the six-way jump, then you're running.

Endless mode

An infinite track that keeps speeding up. Pick Chill Groove, Normal or Fast, run the campaign soundtrack in order or shuffled, or load your own MP3s and let Hexshroom find the beat. Chain spores into a streak to multiply your score.

Strange mushrooms on the track

• Mycelial Magnet pulls in every spore around you.

• Fungal Fortune doubles your spores and score.

• Astral Amanita keeps you from falling into the void.

• Morphing Morel shrinks you to Tiny or grows you to Mega.

• Shroomstep Rave turns the track into a rave full of extra spores.

• Deadly Dapperling warps your view into a fisheye trip.

• Insidious Inkcap plunges the tunnel into a noir blackout with a single spotlight on you.

Runners and worlds to unlock

Spend your spores on eight runners, from the classic red Amanita and the leafy Flora to the robots M.Y.C.E.L.I.A and F.U.N.G.I, the crystal explorers Gemma and Aura, and the reef dwellers Jellica and Cora. Repaint the whole tunnel as a Lush Forest, Cyberpunk Machinery, Crystal Cavern or Bioluminescent Reef. Daily missions and 42 achievements give you something new to chase every time you play.

• Plays fully offline. Progress syncs with Steam Cloud.

• Streamer Mode swaps in a soundtrack that's safe to stream and record. The regular soundtrack can trigger copyright claims on videos and streams.

The story

A tremor deep beneath the earth scattered the glowing spores that keep your village alive. Follow the pulse through the Hexagonal Tunnels, gather every spore and find your way home beyond the Wall of Mist.
