An unexplained signal is answering you. Decode patterns, reconstruct recordings and build an understanding of an unknown intelligence in this atmospheric sci-fi puzzle adventure, with interconnected challenges and puzzle variations between playthroughs.

Your night shift at Deep Field Observatory begins with familiar equipment and an unfamiliar signal.

Then it answers.

The Other End is a single-player sci-fi puzzle adventure played through an observatory workstation. Analyse transmissions, decipher unfamiliar symbols and reconstruct damaged records as a routine shift becomes an exchange with something you cannot yet understand.

Learn how to communicate

Recognise recurring patterns, test possible meanings and build a working vocabulary. Compare what you transmit with what comes back. Every successful exchange gives you another piece of the language—and another question to ask.

Connect the discoveries

Work through varied challenges involving signal analysis, logic, timing models, spatial reconstruction and unfamiliar machinery. Some tasks stand alone; others connect, with discoveries from one system helping you make sense of another.

Look beyond the signal

Recover animated recordings, examine distant environments and operate remote equipment through your terminal. Your view of the other end grows as you restore the information needed to understand it.

Return to a different investigation

Puzzle variations change layouts and answers between playthroughs while preserving the central story. Return with what you have learned and apply it to a fresh set of challenges.

Features include:

  • An unfolding first-contact mystery told through transmissions, recordings and correspondence.

  • Varied puzzles built around decoding and understanding an unfamiliar intelligence.

  • Interconnected systems that reward observation, experimentation and comparison.

  • Animated transmissions and remote drone operation.

  • Puzzle variations across new playthroughs.

  • Eight manual save slots for keeping separate investigations.

You have a receiver, a workstation and someone—or something—at the other end.

What will you send back?
