A sleeping planet. A few robots who know nothing yet. And you, who know how to write programs. Teach them, block by block, to take care of the world, until life comes back on its own, across five worlds.
“You know how to write programs. Teach them to take care of the world.”
Noma has fallen asleep. What is left is sand, ruins, and a Heart that still beats. Bip wakes up alone. Its three companions sleep beside it, and none of them knows how to do anything… yet.
You don’t control them: you teach them
No program is given, and you never touch the planet yourself. In the Workshop, you put their gestures together in blocks: collect, recycle, plant, water, repair. And the block that matters most: “Repeat forever”. Your robots do what you taught them, again and again, and life answers.
- Fifteen robot trades, up to eighty robots, each with its own voice.
- Simple blocks to begin with, then conditions on some thirty sensors, reflexes, routines, variables and signals to get a whole team working together.
- A debugger, breakpoints, and stars that tell you why a program could still do better.
A world coming back to life
A planet in true 3D, with its own day and night. Pioneer plants prepare the soil for flowers, then for trees. Moist air brings the rain back, and the sea returns to the old basins. One day, birds cross the sky. No one programmed them.
There will be sandstorms, thunderstorms, wildfires, pests and meteors. Every threat shows its cause, its countdown and its remedy. There are no enemies and no villains.
Five worlds on the route of the Ark
Noma, the desert where it all began. Thalassa, a world of water dotted with islands, where the tide comes and goes. Twilight, a world that no longer turns, between fire and ice. Sylve, a forest overrun by the grey. And the Ark, the inhabitants’ closed garden.
Each world you wake reveals the next one, and goes on living when you leave.
And then, letting go
Noma was not waiting for a hero. It was waiting for small hands, gestures repeated over and over, and someone to teach them to take care of the world.
At the end of the route, the Ark’s loop must hold on its own. No one touches anything, and everything goes on.
Savebot can be played in English and French.
