Ironhallow

One engineer. A world of magic. Thousands of monsters.

You were torn out of your world and dropped into another: a medieval land of castles, sorcery and things that crawl out of the dark. Nobody here has seen a machine before. You are the only one who can build them.

Your ship, the Aegis, is all that came with you. Every descent you take it down into the monsters' land, dig out what it needs, and hold the line around it until it can lift off again.

Hold the line

• Thousands on screen at once. Hordes pour down the lanes, and the game is built to throw all of them at you.

• Every enemy asks a question. Grunts come in crowds, brutes break through walls, spiders race past your front line, and wardens hang back to shield the others from harm.

• Sci-fi defences in a fantasy world. Plasma turrets, rapid-fire repeaters, long-range lancers, oil mortars that drown the crowd in slowing pools, plus mines, lures, barricades and pyre gates that set the horde alight.

• Fight alongside them. Walk the battlefield with your sidearm and your drone, mining ore by hand and plugging the gaps yourself.

Build your Aegis

• A ship you walk around. Between descents, step aboard your Aegis: a hangar, a hold, an armoury, a reliquary and a bridge.

• Choose what goes down. Load your manifest in the Armoury. Only the buildings you pack can be built below, so every descent starts with a decision.

• Study and upgrade. Bring ore and aether home, study new blueprints at the reliquary, and unlock the Mk II turrets that change shape as they upgrade.

• Know when to leave. Hold to the end for the full haul, or lift off early and keep what you have.

Leave your mark

• Every kill is on record: which turret made it and what it brought down.

• Earn honours for your victories, shown on your bridge's honours board and on Steam.
