Chop logs, saw planks, and carve little wooden helpers who take over the hauling and crafting. Grow a small, legible production chain — no conveyor belts — sell your wares at the market stall, and bring the valley fair back to life. A cozy automation game with an actual ending.
Start With Your Own Two Hands
You arrive in a quiet valley with an axe, a backpack, and an abandoned market stall. Chop logs by the river, carry them to the depot, saw them into planks, and haul finished goods to the stall yourself. Every job in the valley is real work you can do with a click — you are the first worker this place has had in years, and for a while, the only one. Coins from the stall buy new buildings, new recipes, and the plank pile that will soon become something more. Thirteen unlocks are spaced through the run, so there is almost always something new around the corner — a sturdier backpack, a new station, a new member of the crew.
Carve Your Helpers
There are no conveyor belts in Workshop Valley. When the work outgrows one pair of hands, carve a wooden figurine at the carving bench and wake it. Helpers walk real paths — they politely refuse to wade through the pond — hauling goods between buildings, feeding raw materials into machines, and carrying finished wares to market. Assign one to a building and it runs the whole loop on its own: fetching inputs, crafting, clearing the output pile back to the depot. When its post runs out of work, a helper does not idle; it quietly pitches in on the valley's shared chores, always picking the most urgent job first and the nearest one second. No two helpers ever grab the same errand. The crew grows one figurine at a time, up to five helpers — and your morning commute becomes watching them clatter across the bridge while you plan what to build next.
A Small Chain You Can Actually Read
Log to plank to finished goods: chairs, toys, bowls, barrels. Nine goods, nine buildings, a dozen recipes — every step visible on screen, every basket carried by someone you can see. The sawmill turns two logs into three planks; the drying rack coaxes two planks out of a single log if you can wait; the mill spins spare planks into barrel handles so the joinery can finish its barrels. Carve a wooden totem and sell it, and the whole crew walks a little faster for good. Later on, a second grove deeper in the hills eases the valley's appetite for raw logs. New buildings slot into the same valley instead of a fresh map, and everything you build in the first hour is still earning its keep in the last.
Cozy by Design
No fail states. No irreversible choices. Nothing that punishes you for stepping away. No ads, no energy meters, no daily check-ins — Workshop Valley is a one-time purchase that stays out of your way. Speed time up to 8x when you are in a hurry, or slow down, pan and zoom around the little tilt-shift diorama, and watch warm evening light stretch long shadows across the grass while the waterwheel turns. Your progress saves itself along the way.
An Ending Worth Building Toward
The valley's old fair can still be revived, and the stall keeps a tally of exactly what it needs: ninety chairs, seventy barrels, eighty toys, a hundred and ten bowls — and enough coins in the till to make it sing. Most valleys come back to life in about ten hours, inside a comfortable eight-to-fifteen-hour arc. When the fair finally opens, the little wooden crew that got you there is still clattering across the bridge. A real ending, not a prestige reset — and no new map that makes you start over.
